Faith-Attuned Psychology Services

Your feeling of connection and trust with your psychologist is vital to good therapeutic outcomes. Just as some people prefer a psychologist of a particular gender or cultural background, many Christians value seeing someone who understands their faith and how deeply it shapes their values, decisions, and way of life. A psychologist who is also a Christian can also appreciate the unique challenges that come with living a Christian life.

At Full Life Psychology, therapy delivered in a way that incorporates and honours your Christian faith by a psychologist who is authentic in their Christian faith is available upon request.

HOW DOES FAITH SHAPE THERAPY?

Seeing a psychologist who is Christian does not change the evidence-based therapies used — these remain grounded in research and proven effectiveness. However, within therapy your values and faith will be understood, supported, and honoured — not questioned, diminished, or dismissed.

For many therapies, understanding a client’s personal values is an important part of helping them set meaningful goals, build self-awareness, and make choices that feel authentic and aligned with who they are. Recognising and working with values allows therapy to support not just symptom reduction, but also growth, purpose, and a clearer sense of identity.

For Christian clients, this means being aware of and sensitive to the importance of a God-centred identity, aligning with Godly values and truths, understanding grace as central to healing, and relying on God for strength and guidance. If you would like, faith conversations can be part of your therapy — as much or as little as you choose — and woven naturally into your journey of growth, healing, and resilience.

NEXT STEPS IF YOU’D LIKE TO SEE A PSYCHOLOGIST WHO IS CHRISTIAN

Simply let our admin team know if this is important to you, and they will suggest which psychologist may best support your treatment goals while sharing and understanding your faith.

You’ll always be in control of how much you want your faith acknowledged in therapy, and your preferences will be fully respected.

FAITH ATTUNED SERVICES WE PROVIDE

Alongside individual therapy, services we provide include:

  • Support for pastors, ministry staff, and church leaders to build resilience, prevent burnout, and care for their own mental health.

  • Workshops and talks for Christian communities on mental health, wellbeing, and integrating faith with psychology.

  • Consultation for churches and faith-based organisations on supporting staff and members with psychological wellbeing.

  • Guidance through life transitions such as marriage, parenting, grief, or vocational changes — approached with sensitivity to Christian values.

WHAT IF FAITH ISN’T IMPORTANT TO ME?

That is absolutely fine. It makes no difference to us or to the high-quality care you will receive. For some clients, faith is not relevant at all. Faith-attuned psychology is just one of the many services we offer — and we warmly welcome people from all backgrounds, beliefs, and walks of life.

Even if faith is not part of your life, therapy will still draw on your personal values — helping you set goals that matter to you, make authentic choices, and build a stronger sense of who you are.

All of our psychologists adhere to a strict code of ethics, ensuring impartial, non-judgemental, and compassionate care. We respect every individual’s values and goals and are committed to making sure all who come to us feel welcomed, seen, and supported.
